Tacos Fiesta
Tacos Fiesta is the best combination of excellent and close by. I knew it would be great long before I tried their wares as I witnessed them move from a street food style setup to a fully equipped truck through the power of the hungry crowds of people that consistently patronized their business. North Hollywood is a destination for tacos and this place seemed more beloved by the surrounding public than other longer established spots.
A great deal is crammed into a compact package inside their trusty truck. Constantly cycling through fresh tortillas. A large inviting trompo roasting excellent al pastor. Deep fryer cradling baskets of fries destined to be dusted with a seasoning that automatically elevates anything it dresses by several levels. Their protein options are wide and varied. Each and every item I’ve enjoyed made with great care and attention to detail.
I only have a limited sample size. Which is a large number of meals for me while not being a significant proportion of the piles of meals they prepare every day but Monday. I’ve noticed that the public at large tends to gravitate towards the burritos. Of the dozens of times I have visited I’ve ordered a burrito exactly once and it was very special indeed. Meagrely priced, apportioned generously, engineered studiously. Bravo. But the majority of my visits lean towards taco procurement because I enjoy the simplicity.
This is a place when exploration has rewarded me to no end. Here I discovered my great love of cabeza. The asada swept off the grill never fails to please. Lengua, buche, or fried fish - each and every perfect package presented by this treasure of a truck has enhanced my evening at the time and made me more appreciative to live in such a special place.
I’m a big fan of how the food is presented. Many times for me two tacos were the order of the occasion. Not a big meal by any means, but exactly what was needed to fuel future activity. When you order two tacos they come skillfully wrapped in foil that is folded in a fashion that makes them easy to open and consume with the aluminum automatically shaped into an eating apparatus.
Shout out to all the people working hard late into the evening serving food on the street corner. Tacos Fiesta is an example of how this most excellent dining is presented with love, care, and a hospitality lingering long after the meal. Return business is their forte. Apparently Ryan Greene eats his tacos here. His studio is somewhere nearby. I don’t specifically go there to meet him but if it ever happens I will be chuffed.
The package. Simplicity and perfection abound.
